I can't really speak specifically to whether the RFU over Cat5 is a good or solid idea, but rated Cat5 cable will hold 12V with no issue. POE is 48V at up to 100m
Yup.... I've done those ones as well. I would bet, though, that this was a put in of a touring show, in which case you would have a touring Lighting Director and a touring Technical Director who know their show backwards, forwards upside and under and can get it installed in the absolute most...
Good questions from StNic. For me, the biggest question is whether the show is being designed with a rep plot, and how large and complex that plot is. If you are talking about writing 160 looks (16 scenes, 10 cues each) with an existing rep plot of around 100 lights then you won't need much...
It's been a while since I used a 300 or 500 series Strand board, but as I recall the logic goes like this:
"GO" triggers the next cue in the stack - since the console can handle multiple simultaneous faders, this means you can have many cues running simultaneously (hence: GO,GO double tap...
re: Sensor+ Rack & CEM3: Dimmer Help! Circuits Flickering!Double take!! Thanks to Mr. Jordan, I've noticed that the title of the OP says CEM+ but the subject (and body) says CEM3. That's what I get for not paying attention. The information in my post above still holds for CEM3, it's just a...
re: Sensor+ Rack & CEM3: Dimmer Help! Circuits Flickering! The reset button on the CEM+ is on the upper left. It's the button that looks like the square root symbol.
There are a couple of other potential things to check for as well.1) How clean is your rack? Even if you're not getting...
Yeah, thanks Steve. As far as I can tell, Soft Symbols doesn't have the L&E library either. Someone talk to Mr. Shelley about that.
In the meantime, I will create L&E Symbols, and you can all let me know when you need them. :-P
So yeah, those are R40's looks like.... I actually do need to draft some broad cycs though.... does anyone know where I could find an L&E Library? Or if it exists already under some parent company name I don't know?
Thanks!
Hey all -
Thanks for the advice and comments. The electrical service in this theater is definitely wonky at best. I'm guessing that the copper strands left over are from someone who just decided to trim down 4-0 instead of using 2-0 (which is what the lugs are sized for).
For right...
The jerk comment was totally a joke.... How would the conversion to a single phase work? I'm sure it's something I'd need an electrician for, I'm just curious about theory at this point.
Thanks mstaylor ... Yeah, I thought of that way but it's just such a bad idea I can't bring myself to do it. The main panel is very close, I'll look into having IBEW run a neural over
Hello Control Booth geniuses! So, I'm doing in an install in an old theater, and I came across the electrical service in the attached image. As you can see, it has 3 hots in, as you might expect, with lugs after the fuses. What's weird is that it has nothing at all run to the neutral bus. I...
Believe it or not, that's not terrible news! I need to load the show on a MicroVision, which annoyingly won't just read the darn thing - I'd been hoping to at least get a tracking sheet or something off of the file, but if I can find ETC edit, that might make the whole thing simple. I'll post...
