You sense correctly. My mistake. In my brain, when I wrote dimmable, I meant DMX controllable. My brain, as it so often does, failed me yet again.

Nope. If I recall, this was 2-3" from the lens, and opened and closed a lot, so it didn't live there the whole time. You could probably use this stuff pretty effectively, and it's always nice to have around.

You can thin it a little. Just enough to make it “paintable.”

I've dutchmanned, spackled, and used masking tape. Masking tape is my favorite, but as mentioned in other threads, it'll really show itself and also wrinkle when you paint it, because it absorbs the water in the paint differently than the wood around it. A trick I was taught to overcome that...

Great ideas so far. A few more details... It's high school. It'll be difficult to do much outside of regular class time because these kids do a gazillion things and if they don't get A's in all their "academic" classes, their lives will end. I do want to get out to some of the local theaters...

We're renovating our theater starting this summer and I'm told I have to teach Stagecraft without our theater and without a scene shop. What kinds of things would you do to fill the year?
