    Black RP Screen

No source so far. I've struck out with everyone I know. Right now the plan is to buy it and share cost between two shows, which at lease makes the pricetag a bit more palatable. The show was in September, but has been postponed to the dates listed in the OP. Milwaukee hasn't been hit nearly as...

    Black RP Screen

Thanks Mike. I've already started with Rosebrand. It's the price of their quote I'm trying to mitigate and no luck on rentals from them. We've got a line item for 2 10k projectors and we've got 19' of throw distance. The problem is the BLACK projection screen. The cream and gray ones we have in...

    Black RP Screen

Hey Hivemind,I know most of us are away from theater and have a lot of unknowns, but I'm in the market for a black RP in Feb 8th-April 5th, 2021 in Milwaukee, WI. Rental, borrow, we're open to all options. Minimum size: 45’ w x 15’ h. Ideal: 50’w x 17’6”h. The masking arrangement allows us...

    Another Sweeney Issue

We kept the ball valve close to the source so very little head pressure was required. The feed line was regular 3/4" garden hose, so it didn't require much pressure to run up the 12' of wall. The source was pretty inaccessible during the run, so it needed to be able to run on its own. If memory...

    Another Sweeney Issue

Super Late to the game but I was TD on that project at Skylight. Sorry I didn't see your post while it was relevant. The wall bled with every death, at increasing rates with each murder. We had a sump pump in a 5 gal bucket of fake blood feeding a pvc pipe with holes drilled in it. The biggest...

    Hexagon Platforms

Depends how clean and finished it needs to be. If it doesn't matter, cut the lid and frame to fit is the fastest. If you want it to look sexy, then bisect all your miters for clean corners with no endgrain. As far as the framing material itself, any of your standards would work: 2x4, 1x6...

tall, narrow column- Am I building too light?

Staggering seams always helps with ridigity. I just built a set with fullstage roof trusses that were 8x8 beams. Built them out of 1x3 and lauan, and they held together solid. Columns for the vertical beams were the same. I like the idea of beefing up the bottom 4'.

    Adhesives for Foam

We tested out a product in grad school called simalfa. Wrote part of my thesis on it. It requires a lot more infrastructure than your average 30nf, but man is it great and fast! It's expensive, but not much more than 30nf. Gravity feed hose to a pneumatic sprayer, spray only one side for good...

    Lame soft goods

This might very well be it, as I'm sure many don't follow acute accent marks in emails anymore. Thanks!

    Lame soft goods

I have never heard this term before. I assume it refers to Mylar curtains or some other shimmer curtain.Does anyone have a definition for "Lame Soft Goods"?

    Road Assembly Plans

Sadly, no show deck of any kind. It is designed to be on a black stage floor. Otherwise, We would have make our markings on the floor to go with all the other note's we've sharpied onto it.

    Road Assembly Plans

Hey All,I've never built a show to road before that I will not be there to install. (Other Producer is too cheap for a set tech) What kind of paperwork should I generate to help the install team to put the thing back together other than all of the labeling we're doing on the scenery itself and...
