    Director acting as Stage Manager?

That's what I thought... It seems like it would be hard to do both to me. I've never worked on a show that way.Although, now that I have been involved in the tour of A Little Princess I have seen things never done in local theater before that they do for the tours... Like the fact that even...

    Director acting as Stage Manager?

I don't think it's an equity cast.... I think by "Professional", they mean just that they pay their actors and tend to not let just "anyone" work on their shows, as community theaters do.From my talks with him, he seems very knowledgeable in both areas... He said he comes from both a stage...

    Director acting as Stage Manager?

Hey everyone, while we are having a slow few months on the tour, I have taken a job as TD for a local professional theaters production of Phantom of the Opera (not the Loyd-Webber version  ). Here is my question / concern: The stage director / choreographer (who is also the...

    UHF Woes

Already purchased the IAS software. Only went with the basic version, since we don't need to Coordinate more than 30 frequencies just yet.Point taken on the SMQa. Looks like I may not get my approval for the SM line though.... Each receiver is twice the cost of the LMa. Looks like the order...

    UHF Woes

Still have no placed the order for the wireless yet. I'm trying to lobby for the SMQa transmitters :p I like the 250 output, compared to 50 from the LMa. They are also smaller...

I talked with the people at OSP today. They are going to custom design a case for our needs. Basically, it will have two retractable antenna poles in the rear of the case that can be raised and lowered into the rack for transport. According to them, they should lift at most 10 feet out of the...

    Design Lighting for a tour?

Hate to hijack this thread, but: LANDON - I have been trying to get in contact with you via your email address you provided, but was not able to get a reply. Also no reply to PM's on this forum. I would like to talk with you about coming along on the Princess tour. I have an opening for a...

    UHF Woes

Other than "installing" it in the rack, I don't think much will happen in the way of "installing" it. As fare as blocks go, I am going to place the order based on an even spread (or as even as possible), with 3-4 receivers in each block. Since we are going all across America, I'm hoping this...

    UHF Woes

Okay, I had a meeting with the financial team today, and we have come to a decision. We are going with Lectrosonics. The company wants to highest quality we can afford, since we are charging each performance at $15,000 + 20% Box office :p, they don't want to skimp in the wireless dept. and have...

    OSP HS 09?

What was your experience with these microphones? Do they have good sound quality for use in musicals? $99 - $112 seems kind of cheap to me, which sorta scares me. PS) I just found that we can't use the OSP models, they don't have a connector for Lectrosonic.

    OSP HS 09?

Does anyone have experience with the OSP ear-set microphone? It seems like a good deal at $150... But then again, its $150  . I could not find any previous threads on it, so I thought I'd ask. Thanks!

Could it not work setup like this?:It seems to me to be the easiest setup for the system. Don't know if it would actually work or not, but it LOOKS like it would according to the information provided in the G2 Brochure (even though these are not G2's).Thanks, JamesPS) Chris, the document...

    UHF Woes

From my understanding, each antenna needs a "booster". The booster is frequency group dependent, and must be matched with the proper range of the receivers / transmitters. So the booster essentially makes each antenna have to operate in "A", "B" or "G" groups.Unless I understand this wrong...

    Stage Monitors - Musical Theatre

He may be getting this anyway  The wireless in-ear system seems to be a waste of money for a conductor. He is not moving during the show, therefore, being wired should NOT be a problem. I'll run the option by him at the next rehearsal, and see if I can convince him of this. If not...

    UHF Woes

They have a finalized list of venues which our tour will be playing. Apparently, they have suspended all "booking" by presenters this season, and instead have booked or are planning on booking (?) the following Theaters:IU Auditorium - Bloomington, IN Clowes Hall - Indianapolis, IN Morris PAC...
