The scene calls for an amp that "explodes" because it is turned up too loud. high school theater/high school budget... I cant use smoke, can use dry ice, can possible just have someone run on the stage with a co2 fire extinguisher to "put it out". What would you do?

Hey guys, 1st post. On the set design I was just givin for our fall show. The SD wants a 4x16 platform 10' high. Would it work to just do normal double 2x4 legs with a lot of bracing, or is there a better way? Thanks!
