Using a dmx console as an RFU on an etc express 48/96

So, we are trying to use our old console as an rfu so that we can do control from backstage. The rfu on an express is 6 pin and obviously the dmx is 5 pin so the question is "is there an adapter that we can make/purchase and if not what is the best way to go about doing this?".TIAMatt Barber

Our school has been using strand since we opened in 2002, since then the only thing we have acquired have been our ETC express 48/96, about 8 par 64 cans, a few 3 cell cyc lights, and strip lights. The only things that we had problems with concerning strand was the dimmers, the console, and...

    Control/Dimming Sweet Light

Lol, my school just got an Express 48/96, before we had a really old Strand console. I would say it's the best bet. Too bad we don't have any moving heads so we can't use the track pad. We got it the monday of our tech week. We then got yelled at for not having cues ready that night. *sigh* I...

    Actors microphone care

Our group of kids are ridiculous, at practices we have to have a parent sit and keep them quiet, most of the actors take this show as a joke and no one cares, we have had mics that have been destroyed on "accident". The only way I can think to get it into their heads is to give them a class on...

    Actors microphone care

I have been looking for a powerpoint or illustration discussing microphone care and treatment. We have to buy new over ear microphones for our shure packs almost every show and we could really go for a lesson on body pack and microphone care. Thanks in advance-Matt

Microphones Question about finding the right microphone for 3.5 mm female pack (Sennheiser)

Yes, we have have other microphones. We have shure packs that use a 4 pin mini xlr male on the pack. So, it would be easier to have all the same mic and just an adapter for that mic.

Microphones Question about finding the right microphone for 3.5 mm female pack (Sennheiser)

well, that is... umm.... inventive. I don't think that would work very well because the director wants them to be skin tone (and no we will not paint anything). So I was hoping that someone could find me an adaptor of sorts

Microphones Question about finding the right microphone for 3.5 mm female pack (Sennheiser)

I need to find a microphone for a sennheiser pack, we need a list of items to be purchased and we need it by monday. The jack is a 3.5mm female and I am thinking of a few different options. Though they need to be under 200$ preferably4 pin mini xlr male to 3.5 mm male adapter3.5mm headword...

Conventional Fixtures Big: The Musical light-up piano

If you have seen the musical or movie you know there is a piano that lights up. My question is how could we make a piano keyboard light up? This is a high school doing the musical and we only have access to 8 side of house ellipsoidals (4 each side) some offstage par cans on vertical truss and...
