Control/Dimming Ion Question

The Ion at school keeps booting up in blind mode. We're currently running software 2.1.0, IIRC. I've tried to save the current show in live mode, thinking that that would solve the problem, but to no avail. The board works just fine, it's simply a minor nuisance to have to hit the live mode key every time I use the board.

Our rig is currently all conventionals, and 96 dimmer channels on CD-80 AE.

What Tab do you have up on screen 1? If you have a Blind display such as Groups or a Palette List that might explain it.

I had the same problem with a board I've been touring with the past few months. Never figured out the cause.

Do you have any macros run when you boot the console? If not, make a macro that puts you into live.

The board is supposed to come on exactly how it was when turned off.

If it doesn't then call ETC tech support 800 688-4116

Try saving the show, exit to shell, do a deep clear on the desk. Then see if it still does it. If not, ring ETC. Temporary solution, record a Macro (as mentioned above) then set that macro as the startup Macro.

This was an issue in previous versions of software -- upgrading to 2.1.2 should fix it. Alternately, as jglodeklights pointed out, it's caused by having a blind palette/preset list open on the console. Closing this out before shutting down will also keep this from popping into blind.
