New to the game

Just found CB and thought I'd check it out. I'm fairly new to the lighting scene but I'm a quick study. I know about conventional fixtures like pars, fresnels & ellipsoidals and I'm trying to figure out the new LED units. I've only done some small stage shows on an NSI console but I'm looking to move into something a little more modern. I also need to learn more about DMX. Does anyone have a good suggestion on the best books or websites for learning about DMX, LED fixtures, system networking & console programming? It's all a little overwhelming to me but I figure that I should start at the beginning and work my way up.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome Rick. I am sure someone will chime in with good books to read. I would say just start by poking around the Lighting and Electrics forum here and read threads that pertain to your questions. If you have specific questions start your own thread and see what people say, ask follow up questions and if something does not make sense to you ask for clarification.

Welcome Rick. Our YouTube channel has videos that explain some of the features of our products, but if you scan the playlists by topic, I hope you find that before I get into the nitty gritty of brand specific features, I try to give a little background - especially on color theory etc. Also, this section of our web site has some technical articles that give a little background on control, color and protocols.
Any questions - ask away.
