USB DMX Control

Just a quick question. I am currently running a show on a American DJ my DMX pro dongle and software. Will any USB based DMX software talk to the dongle or will only the American dj program work?

There are several programs that can use the DMX Pro (I am assuming you mean Enttec DMX Pro), mine among them. Go to the Enttec site and you can see the list.

Here's the thing: Although the translation would work fine with any software, it doesn't! The reason is that many companies want you to use the dongle they build and they recoup some of the costs in the price of the dongle. So what happens is the software looks to the ID tag on the hardware and if it's not theirs the software won't talk to it! (or works in a limited fashion.)

MyDMX is an American DJ product which uses, I believe, their own proprietary USB interface. I rather doubt that it would work with a third party software application. The only way to know for sure would be to try it out...
