Fixture options please.

Good afternoon,
At one of the venues I work we are looking into some new fixtures that are LED and about the size of the S4 Jr.
So what is there available? Budget? Well lets say midrange. We have recently equiped ourselves with Ovation Reve E3, EK lights K Smarts and Silverstar Putos 2000 so that should give you an idea.
They must also be available in Australia and of course we will arrange a shootout of the contenders when it comes time.
Now it is up to you.

We've got some ETC Colorsource spot jr - they're ok but, IMO, flawed. They're zoom spots but it's not always easy to go from blue edge to brown edge, and the shutters are, frankly, rubbish. Nowhere near as good as the shutters on the preludes they replaced in terms of angles and cut - even the old Patt 23 have better shutters. Output wise they're ok, certainly brighter than the 650W preludes, with as good colour mixing as you'd expect from a budget (for ETC) fixture so not as good as the very latest lustr range but not bad.

Take a look at the Ovation E2 FC.
Integrated zoom lens, great optics, and full color, all in a compact housing.

I think they’d work great in the application you describe.

I'd be interested to see how the shutters perform on the E2 - they look sort of similar to those on the colorsource jr.

Chauvet Ovation E2 FC is a great light. I sold 24 of them to some friends of mine and have used them on corporate gigs and they are fantastic lights. Super lightweight, great zoom/focus that's easy to use.

Did you have to do any fairly extreme shutter angles ?

Don't know if of any help, but I have been interested in a TechniLux mini-Leko LED. Something to look at in me perhaps just remembering something about it which was interesting.
