It is once again time to submit proposed changes to the National Electrical Code. If you want to submit the old fashioned way by paper, proposals are due in the NFPA office by 5:00pm EDT on October 3, 2014. For a downloadable copy of the form go to http://www.nfpa.org/codes-and-stand...pment-process/regulations-directory-and-forms. Under “Forms for code-development process” towards the center click on “Public input form”. Public Input is the new name for Proposals.

The preferred way to submit is electronically on line. By this method submissions are due by 5:00pm EST on November 7, 2014. To use this method go to www.nfpa.org/70next. On the section under the “Next Edition” tab click “The next edition of this standard is now open for Public Input (formerly proposals)” If you already have a NFPA account, sign in. If you are not registered with NFPA, click “Create a Profile” on the right side. Follow the instructions and learn the process.

If you want USITT to submit your proposal, please create an electronic “paper” copy and e-mail it by October 3, 2014 to [email protected]. We will give it due process and submit it as an USITT proposal which may have more impact.
