Elation Pro FS 15R Followspot - Any experiences/tips?

My high school drama club recently purchased a pair of Elation Pro FS 15R followspots and we are beyond impressed with their performance in our productions. However, we have been using more of the automated color filters and are having some issues where the light seems to "strobe" through one or two other colors before it reaches the desired color. Any tips or tricks for making color swaps without that happening? Also, any other advice regarding this followspot would be greatly appreciated. As TD, I'm rarely behind the spot but I'd love any pointers on how I can make operation the best possible for our followspot guys.
