ETC ION 1000 Value

Hey guys!

I own an ETC ION 1000 console with no fader wings or roadcase. I'll be looking to sell it in the next few weeks and I was just wondering what it's current market value is? I obviously don't expect to get what I paid for it or even the market value itself, but I would like a ballpark appraisal. She's just over three years old, beautiful condition and has primarily been used in the world of independent theatre, so not heavily worked.

Any help would be appreciated!

Cheers!

Real question is why are you selling it.

Ballpark without the bells n whistles I would say 7-8k. Used lighting has them at 8-9.

Personally I would keep it and use as a backup if you are upgrading. If you are liquidating we’ll get what ya can.

What I find strange about the used listings I have looked at, they don't mention if it is the older XP version or the newer Windows7 version with the SSD (and the two Ethernet ports). To me that is an important point.

I'm looking to sell it because it's becoming unnecessary for the type of work I do, which is generally smaller scale. I also own a Nomad system, which I find completely capable of meeting my needs, even if the lack of physical encoders is slightly inconvenient. I'd rather not have the ION become idle captial and would rather sell it before it depreciates too much in value and reinvest in other equipment.

Is it a win7 ion or a winxp? If it's a winxp, how old of a winxp ion? These will greatly effect it's sales value...

If it's an "original" ion (dual dvi splitter on the back) the user is looking at an additional investment of ~2000 to upgrade it to win7.
If it's an "upgrade eligible ion" (there's an article with serial numbers somewhere on ETC's website..) The user is looking at an additional investment of ~1000 to upgrade it to win7.
If it's a win7 ion (dual network interfaces on the back) then there's no additional investment to make it "modern".
