Glice

Glice is a rather broad name given to a range of synthetic plastics, usually HDPE, made to be very similar to ice. Its general purpose is to allow people to skate in a place were frozen water and/or expensive cooling systems wouldn't work either because of the surroundings or for budgetary reasons. Also known as "artificial ice."

One of the most seen uses is on Regis and Kelly's yearly Disney on Ice episode where they have skaters perform in the studio on glice. This is handy because installation and removal of this very temporary scenic piece takes less time and money than actual ice in this and many other situations and also doesn't require an off site shoot at a skating rink.

One manufacturer: EZ Glide 350 : Synthetic Ice Skating surface..

Also this material can be put under anything meant to be set on ice to prevent burn in.
