Used as a non-removable final picture varnish for a glossy protective coat, or as a painting and glazing medium. It enhances color intensity, increases transparency and gloss, eases the flow of paint, and adds flexibility and adhesion to the paint film. It goes on translucent but becomes transparent once dry. Whle wet, it's water-soluble and can be thinned.
