I was thinking just last week when prepping for an upcoming safety training seminar that we've been overdue for another one of these. They happen, what? every 18 months or so?

That was a HORRIBLY written article....

Stage guns can injure people. Even when firing blanks they can injure and kill people. Odds are he had his hand over the cylinder in some way. With a starter pistol design, all of the gas escapes through the side of the gun. Unfortunately, when most people do the "two hand grip" you see in the movies, one hand usually ends up in the line of fire. If proper shooting technique is taught, this can be avoided or at least minimized.

WOW that really is a bad article! The author has no idea what she's talking about. I especially like how in the middle of the article she lightly tosses in a story from how two years ago they almost killed another actor. Sounds like the RSC production staff needs a little training about safety.

Im still not sure exactly what happened other than a prop gun hurt someone. Remember people, even professionals can get hurt. Dont be dense and try it without pro help!
