Im Louie and im 17.

I am part of a four strong technical team that run all our schools shows,events and lectures.

This ranges from anything to a portable PA for a field trip, right up to the annual production (Last year was Schools Will Rock You).

I thought i may as well ask if this is normal for any other schools around, but how much gear do you rent for your shows?

Currently i am working with the following:

4x mac 300
6x mac 250
10x TRI LED 1M Batons
6x sgm synthesys 700
4x lanta aurora polaris
8x source 4 juniors
24x generic fixtures
1x martin glaciator
3x snow machines
4x KV2 EX10
2x KV2 EX 2.2
1x chamsys PC wing and touchsreen
1x Roland M-400 and REAC system
3x Projectors
and a copy of cue lab for the visuals

Is this a standard thing for high school shows?

Anyway its nice to be a part of Control Booth

I would say there is really no "standard" for school shows. Many people would be very envious of the fact that you have some moving and LED fixtures wihile they are stuck with a handful of 40 year old conventonal fixtures. Others have much more than you. It all depends on the size of the school and their financial position. Many places cannot afford to rent any gear at all.
