1. The zone of the stage between the plaster line and the first set of legs. Moving upstage, the other zones are designated as "in-two", "in-three", and so on.
2. Referring to a scene or specialty act that takes place as above, often in front of a backdrop (or sometimes on the apron DS of the main curtain) that performs while scenery is being changed US. Sometimes called a crossover scene. See also olio.
