1. Lighting. Short for "decimal point." Many/most lighting consoles allow the user to insert a cue between whole-numbered cues, i.e. Q5.5 comes between Q5 and Q6. Some consoles allow as many as four digits after the decimal point: Q5.1234 falls between Q5.1233 and Q5.1235.

2. Rigging. Location of attachment of suspension. "The Hannah Montana show requires 127 points." "Move that point six inches downstage."

3. Costumes/Sewing. The location where two pieces of fabric meet at a corner, particularly important when doing patchwork or quilting.

4. Dance, specifically ballet. Usually spelled "pointe," dancing on the toes of one's foot, being "en pointe" and wearing "pointe shoes."
