The brief period of time between calls, usually between a load-out and a load-in. Many contracts provide for additional compensation (most often 1.5 times the prevailing rate) when the duration between when an employee is released and due back is less than the stated minimum of eight, ten, or twelve hours. See also turnaround, definition #2.
