Software for Sound->light activation?

Can anyone advise on some low-cost software (PC or Mac) to take a live audio feed and do a real-time sound to light show? I'm planning on using a Light-O-Rama 16 channel light controller in DMX mode. I have a USB -> DMX interface box (Gus Electronics USB-VL344).

I have heard that light jams is decent software that can do this. I have never used it so I can not comment much.
