I have about a dozen steel base plates I'm thinking of giving away to a friend, and was wondering if there was any good reason to keep them around anymore. I have all aluminum base plates now (3'x3' 4-Wall style) and was wondering if there was any reason to use the steels in place of aluminum in downleg situations. Then maybe I'd keep them around. In truss-tower config's I could just weigh the aluminums down with sandbags and get rid of the ***-heavy steels. Thoughts?
