So my theater had this ugly mix of mis-matched broken down mic stands and it was time to get new ones. Shopping around at NAMM I settled on K&M stands and specifically a bunch of 210/9 tripod base w/ boom stands and 26075 Hand Clutch with stackable round bases (They are AWESOME).
Once they got here I got to work on an old road case. I removed the lid, and gutted it.
I moved the dividers over and added 18" cuts of 4" PVC.
A few pop rivets to reinstall the divider and I was ready to go! 18 stands all in one rolling cart! I'm going to get a small container to put on the "shelf" area in the back of the cart to store extra mic clips.
I love how the round based stands nest together. There's a small nub on the bottom of the stand that sort of locks into a hole in the base of the one below it.
