1/2 and 1/2 or all vs all....read on..

Ya know...I should know this.. I did an awesome lighting design with crazy breakups for Midsummer Night's Dream last spring...never thought of it for the dance shows. Would have to do them from the CW though since I'm using pars/parnels/fresnels for the main lights on stage....For the side...

1/2 and 1/2 or all vs all....read on..

Thanks guys. I was hoping I would get that answer. I know from doing this a couple times that I can add some "warm" to the cool to augment any lack of light the cool might have. I guess I just get picky on the outsides of the stage....but that doesn't matter as much.Things like this make...

1/2 and 1/2 or all vs all....read on..

So, I have a dance studio that comes in twice a year and the main portion of the stage (especially the more upstage part) is usually lit from above with warm and cool lights. I use my 1-3 E with 6" Fresnels and pars/parnels angled across the stage. I.e. The lights on SL of center are angled...

    Element Network question

Man, I wish my biggest worry was if my dimmer racks might mysteriously get viruses. Wouldn't that be a great world? I'd love to explain that to parents when they ask why their kid was in the dark during a concert. "Honestly....Al Qeada's new target......"we are taking the US down...one...

    Element Network question

Currently, the Airport is the hub for the auditorium. Basically the two consoles would be plugged to it and then computers in the space use it for wireless connection for weekly assemblies. I'm not planning on using this during shows, mostly for setup, focusing days, etc. Someone is always AT...

    Element Network question

Yes.Although you just made me think of something. The LS9 is plugged into the Airport base station and the Element is simply plugged into a network wall jack. (The same one that the Airport is plugged to)

    Element Network question

Backwards...I actually would keep a static IP for the Element. It's the mobiles that are freaking out over switching back and forth from DHCP to Static IP.I think that is what is going to happen. The Element really wasn't the problem. Yamaha Studio Mix is the one that is really picky about...

    Element Network question

So I've had the iPhone/iPad RFR app and used it on both devices to control our ETC Element. I also run Stage Mix for our LS9 on my iPad. Now, Stage Mix is a bit picky and wants your iPad to run a static IP, the element could care less....but my iPad does. So, I'm having my IT guy set up...

    Tablets and Stage Managing etc.

Just got my iPad 2 a couple weeks ago and added the ETC iRFR app. Love having remote control of my Element from stage. Unfortunately, with the production happening, I haven't had much time to get really deep into finding what production specific apps I want. Just have pages/notes/keynote...

    High School TD's

I voted, but I'll add to it here. I am a high school TD with a .75 contract. So, not full time, but probably more than many I suppose. I have a crew of tech students that varies from 6-10 each year. We also have a full time theater/drama director/teacher.I come from an audio background...

    Acoustical Shell Experience

Wenger Diva shell in our space. 7 towers, 3 ceiling panels, no lights installed. We run our lights on our electrics between the ceiling panels. The Diva (as mentioned) has a little hovercraft moving device and ours got a small tear in it once, but it is fixed now. Our stage deck is pretty...

Head worn Mics for Shure UR4d and UR1 system

We've used both the E6's and lately the EV RE-97's. In fact I have 14 channels running right now with Shure UR packs/receivers for Into the Woods. Used 28 channels in Feb. They are both great mics and have performed well on stage. The one thing the E6's might have over the current model of...
