One more question, do you know if the UV spotlights in Runaway Railway are Avere 4UV? I recently broke down on Incredicoaster in a tunnel and saw Avere used there, so I’d assume it’s the same for this ride. The thing with 12 pixels on it, isn’t actually a black light. It’s a white light worklight and when it’s off, the backing on the pixels fluoresce under UV. Whoops. The actual UV fixtures are made by LSI.
Could be Avere 4UV. The pictures look kind of like there's a top hat or snoot on them. Avere doesn't have the ability to do that, but we are talking about Disney here, this could be a custom built variation of an Avere or it could be custom built by someone else. Is there a lot of "purple" in the air? Because Avere doesn't put out much excess purple. They are truly invisible UV light unlike most of the competition. One more question, do you know if the UV spotlights in Runaway Railway are Avere 4UV? Yea. No purple. The only reason I thought it could be Avere is A: they use them on incredicoaster, and B: I found an article of a design company creating a barndoor for the Avere. The article said it was used for a “theme park” and it was a bit before Disneyworlds Runaway Railway opened. If you would like here’s the article: https://www.andrewtrenton.com/avere-4uv-barndoorCould be Avere 4UV. The pictures look kind of like there's a top hat or snoot on them. It's not unusual for Disney to go to a manufacturer, gives them a set of specifications and have a fixture custom made. It all gets created under an NDA and nobody knows what they are or who made them. Then the following year a manufacturer shows up with a new product at LDI that looks very familiar. Or we never see the fixture again because the guts of the fixture are from a known product but the housing is custom and so nothing is ever released that looks like it.
Interesting. Yea, that would make sense considering they use the same type of flood blacklights everywhere in both parks. If I remember correctly, I think the rumor was that the Avere 4 UV was created for the updated tomorrow land.
It's probably what they are using. Disney appreciates a reliable fixture that they can use in multiple locations in the park. It's also smart from a repair point of view to use the same product in multiple locations rather than have a different fixture everywhere.
Oh, cool. Thanks! I just thought they might use the same because its used on IncredicoasterNo, not Avere. It's LSI UV fixtures and some PRG UV Bullets.
Interesting. I must’ve mistaken them. Thanks!incredicoaster has PRG bullets too. Not avere.
