Designation for a model/line of 400A single-pole separable connectors (Cam-Loks) by Cooper/Crouse-Hinds. Other manufacturers, including Leviton/Helox/ECT (note, not ETC), and LeGrand/Pass&Seymour call a compatible product Series 16, or 16 series.

The E1016 line has a baby brother, the 150A E1015 (Series 15) "baby cam"/"mini cam" which has limited application in our industry; as well as a big sister, the 690A E1017 (Series 17), virtually never seen on stages.
And, in another excellent example of wanting to do things differently, the Canadian film industry uses the "ball-nose" E1018 Cam-Lok. This is not intermateable with E1016, even though it is also a 400A connector.
