What do you guys like for a larger venue? Our DF50 popped a leak in the tank... 750 bucks for just that.... so replacing the whole thing. If you want water-based, Antari Z350 and a good DMX-able fan. Keep the hazer percentage under 75% to siginificantly extend the longevity of the pump, but if it does go bad it's cheap and incredibly easy to replace. They're very reliable units, I think we have somewhere around 15 of them in rental stock. For a fan, the little ADJ Entour Cyclone would probably do fine.
We've rented a Smoke Factory Tour-Hazer II for our last couple dance shows and it's been *very* nice to work with; self contained, very good about fog per juice, 120V, DMX, self-cleaning when you shut it off; they're under $2k and we're thinking about buying one. It doesn't really *quite* need the helper fan we put above it on the cart for our 40ft wide stage, but we use it anyway...What do you guys like for a larger venue? Given how absolutely rock solid our Antaris have been and how I've had many issues with many other brands, something Antari for sure, since I'm guessing you don't wanna spend MDG money. The HZ500 is good if you still want oil based, but a pair of Z390s would probably do just fine if you want water based. I've found with water based it's really good to have one either side of the stage. It's got a dumb display (good thing) and minimal electronics which I value in a hazer. It's also less picky than some other brands with regards to shutdown procedures, it'll auto-clean on startup if it's shut down without being given a chance to clean. If you want the rack style unit, the Antari F6 is their latest and greatest self-contained hazer. What do you guys like for a larger venue?
