Control/Dimming RGB Mixing on Strand Classic Palette

Hello everyone,

I am about to program a show using a Strand Classic Pallete. I just used the board on a show last week, but I didn't do any complicated programing, so I know how to use the board to some exstent. What I want to do is tell the board that my RGB conventional strip lights are actually LEDS, so they will mix using the color pick system and all that. I was wondering if any one knew how I would go about doing that?

Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

In particular, see page 276.

Basically, pick the (logical) channel that you want to use to control the lights. In patch by channel, change the type from Dimmer to RGB 3 channel. If your dimmers are in sequential RGB order, just enter the address of the first dimmer in in the Addr1/DMX1 column. If they are in some other order, you'll need to patch each output as shown in the document. (note that this last bit may be version specific, I couldn't get it to work on the 10.4.2 OLE)

it's really easy. Just:
- have them plugged into three sequential dimmers
- go to the patch screen
- find the channel of the first dimmer
- double click on the word dimmer
-on the drop down menu select generic RGB fixture
-type in the number of the first channel in the column where you see the parenthesis and you should be set
