    Try putting a little thing that you rotate on the barrel of the light to change colours/be the stay-on switch. You could rotate it one direction to be red and the other to be white.

    Heh, we have a problem here. Our school runs a radio station, and the tower is on top of the theater building, probably no more then 200 meters away. I am not sure what system we have installed, I will try to go and take a look on monday. Thanks for your help everyone :).

    making your own gobos

    Someone I work with has made good gobos out of the bottom of pie sheets. You just have to be careful to cut the edges right so they don't get stuck in the light (I have had this happen with a professional gobo before).
