    What is it #1978v2

Ahh, pinsetters. If you find machinery interesting, pinsetters are amazing things to watch. Most people don't think about the complex mechanical dance going on behind the scenes as they bowl. I prefer AMF, but both AMF and Brunswick machines are things of mechanical beauty to behold.

What do you leave on 24/7

Most of the racks I'm familiar with shut themselves down (hibernate) with no control signal present. I wouldn't shut them off unless they were being serviced or were not going to be used for an extensive length of time. This year I worked in the a/v department at my school. There are plenty of...

    Cost to install a camlock?

I wholeheartedly agree with you- I like other connectors much more. I just thought of the 14-50 first for the two reasons you list. It's not the most elegant solution, but it sounds as though it's a mixed bag of components to begin with.

    What is it #1978v2

Reminds me of the old school motor starting switches. This video is of a 3 speed + reverse (5 total positions) switch. It's for a very old (and very large) exhaust fan in an old theater. The video is sideways, but the switch is mounted vertically on the wall with an egg-shaped handle on top...

    Cost to install a camlock?

Can NEMA 14-50 plugs not be used in theatrical applications? I'm about to hit the sack but I'll look it up in the morning.

    DMX controlled Solenoid Valves?

I've asked quite a few misguided questions on this forum, but at least I can take no for an answer.

Do you own a copy of the NEC?

I know that this thread is getting a bit old, but I just wanted to say the tabs are a really good thing to pick up as well. Also, next time I buy it, I'll buy the hardcover.

Holy smokes you have 3 D192 racks in one installation?!

    Ancient ETC insight 2

Computerized 48/96 boards are great. Maybe I'm weird but I actually like that kind of console better than the Element/Ion type equipment for entirely conventional setups. Miserable for anything more intelligent than LEDs and scrollers, but for the basics, I love them. Since you don't even need...

    Ski lift christmas display

Keep in mind that you're going to want to look at an older lift, like the ones posted in this thread (most of which are ancient). You'll want to stick to a counterweighted system instead of modern hydraulic tensioning, and you'll most definitely want to stick with fixed grips. The Eskimo (lift...

Chicago: City wants Congress Theater shut down immediately

That sounds (and looks, from the pictures I see) like an absolutely wicked place to explore. Although I agree, that is a huge list of problems, every one of them major. Having patrons in there with those conditions is nuts.

    Shubert Theater house lighting

I like AT dimmers. While they aren't as easily controlled as SCR dimmers, they're a heck of a lot more robust. You'd either have to be an idiot or intentional in order to break one.I've never seen a stack that large before, thanks so much for sharing.
