    Two-Way Mirror

Just to wrap up this thread... We ended up using a pane of plexiglass and covered it with a reflective/two-way film that is commonly used on office buildings. It was at one point allowed for auto-tinting, but because of its reflectivity and the fact that police officers can't see through it...

    Phantom of the Opera Cemetery

We were thinking about that, but the pillars aren't big enough to have anyone in them and, because they are small, there is very little room to anchor the pulley and extend the rope. Thanks though (we might end up modifying the construction and using a pulley if we can't find anything else).

    Phantom of the Opera Cemetery

We are doing Phantom of the Opera as our fall musical and need ideas on the cemetery gate. We already built the two doors and the pillars to which they are attached; we just need a method to open them at the same time. We had the idea of using the air cylinder from a screen door to "pull" the...

    Two-Way Mirror

Should the "mirror" be tipped downwards? We'd use it for Phantom of the Opera and every picture/video (see link) I see of that scene, the mirror is tipped downward - but wouldn't that shadow the front and allow you to see through it (same principle as cupping your hand around your eyes to see...

    Two-Way Mirror

Stupid question but... what's the difference between plexiglass and acrylic? I found a 3' x 6' acrylic sheet for $50 at Home Depot (see link). The only plexiglass I could find was frosted... 36 In. x 72 In. 093 Clear Acrylic Sheet - MC-10 at The Home Depot

    Two-Way Mirror

I've been looking through the forums but cannot find anything on this topic... I am looking to make a two-way mirror effect for an upcoming show. It needs to be a full body mirror that appears to be two-way (meaning for the most part, it acts as a mirror, but once lit from behind, acts like...

Conventional Fixtures Source Four lens tube dimensions?

Just a quick question... does anyone know what the dimensions of a source four 19/26/36 degree lens are. I am planning on building shelves for the extra ones our venue has tomorrow but I don't have the proper measurements. I know the lens front is 6.8" square, but I am looking for the overall...

    American DJ Snow Flurry troubles

Have you tried running water through the lines to try to unclog them? Either the tips of the tube (by the blower) aren't in the direct path of the moving air, or, as you said, there is a clog. This is all that I can think of - Does anyone else know of anything else...

Ok thanks, I was planning on using the non-dim patch profile anyway. This really makes things easier for me. Thanks

    American DJ Flash Rope

American DJ makes a string of mini strobe lights (American DJ Flash-Rope Strobe String). I was wondering if you could put this directly on a dimmer (and profile it to Full at 1%). Our TD says we can - and one of his friends did it. Is this recommended? Thanks

    Techie sayings

Whenever someone does something stupid (apart from putting a tally mark on the "Wall of Incompetence"), I always say, "yep, That's the way we do it..." It always gets a laugh ps. you don't want to be on the "Wall of Incompetence"
