For our live shows, if there's lighting involved, it's triggered by MTC. An Alesis HD24 which is used for audio playback sends MTC to either a Hog iPC, Strand Rack Palette, or CueServer in the different venues. There are usually no problems, though MTC can hiccup, rarely if ever.
The house system consists of a single ElectroVoice EVI-15. It works very well for our space because it throws a hotter signal towards the back than the front, so no one gets blasted, so to say. I think what I'll do is use two PCC160's evenly spaced out on the stage apron (the rental house only...
Here's the story... Our drama group is producing The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940. As of right now, I have no idea how I'm going to pull off sound. I've got lighting down to a science but sound is another story. I've narrowed it down to two options: One, get 10 wireless lapels and work with...

3) 2 Ultimate TS99 speaker stands
4) 2 Renkus Heinz CFX-121M 12" floor wedges
5) Custom high-quality speakon cables
6) 1...
I run two wireless shures and a couple SM81's and the EQ is flat. What I mean by "harsh" is the sound can sometimes sound too loud and muddy. This usually happens when a soloist sings in higher octaves or when the choir sings a really dynamic song (soft and then really loud). I know DoD isn't...
The portable system I use has been run with the mix outs from a mackie board to a DoD EQ and from those outputs, they are run through a snake to the powered speakers. Since I began using it last year, I've noticed a lack of processing and/or control in the system, especially when a soloist hits...
