So I have no experience with midi and i am working a theatre that has an ETC Element and they are using Q lab for sound. Q lab is plugged into a Presonus board via fire wire that has midi in and out. Is there a way to send go commands to the Element via midi form Q lab. If so how is this programmed.

You should look at the Magic Q PC set up. I was looking at an ION but for the money I went with Magic Q and love it. At this time we are in for $600 this was for a touch screen pc and entech dmx dongle. Next is a fader wing

OK so that worked ! Now i want 4 monitors, lol. Now onto my next issue. I have 2 Rosco I-Cues. I edited the heads to inculde a dimmer. Magic Q automaticly set it up as the next dmx chan in line / order. Is there a way to change the dmx chan of only one attribute in a head ? This may sound wired...

I have never liked metal connectors of any brand. Also every plug from home depot or any gen home repair store has poven to be less then up to spec in my eyes. Maybe because I work for a school dristirct and we buy form a commercial suply house. I have had the best luck with Hubbell products.

When i first started at the Theatre im in now, 20 years ago, they had 4 boxs of gell. Seperated by color. It was a mess!! Most of it was roscolux so i gave the other stuff to the local highschool. Carbon is nasty nasty stuff peeps !! JChenault hit this one on the head !! I have seen it do big damege. This is a good Thread for everyone to read and learn. If you ever see any carbon on anything clean it off !!!!!

is it me or dose the manual that come with magic Q suck? OK so I have done every thing the manual said to do to set up dule monitors and I cant seem to use the second monitor for anything. I can move my window back and forth from the two screens but cant spit things up. Any advice ??
