Automated Fixtures Mac 500s homing to different positions

We have a half-dozen new-to-us Mac 500s, and while most of them are homing to point straight up, two of them home to a tilted-back position. I've reset all of their tilt offsets, but they're still doing it. Am I missing some kind of home point option in the menus, or do I have a problem?

Automated Fixtures Mac 500 lamp off from an Element?

My college just acquired half a dozen Mac 500s, but we're having some issues with control from our Element. Specifically, we can't figure out how to turn our lamps off from the board. I've enabled the DMX lamp off feature on the fixtures, but the lamp off and reset options just don't show up...

No legal worries--it's a Catholic high school.

    Fixture disposal

Oh, I have no intention of ridding our inventory of Fresnels. We're replacing some of the Altmans with S4 PARs because they're great little fixtures, but we'll keep a good deal around; it's just that we already had a few that were broken lying around in our lighting closet, we have more working...

    Fixture disposal

So, the high school I just graduated from has hired me to do some summer housecleaning in the theater, and part of my job is determining what to keep and what to get rid of, since they're finally starting to buy some new gear (starting with several Source Fours and S4 PARs last summer). There...

    Problems setting up an I-Cue

Derek: I was wrong; I have the PSU in my lap right now, and it's the 8-I-Cue model (PSU-08). Xander: I'm pretty sure I'm addressing it correctly. The Innovator address by universe and channel; I've operated my RoboScans in channels 1-14 on universe C before. If I keep running into...

    Problems setting up an I-Cue

No splitters or daisy-chaining. The dimmers are on universe/port A, while the I-Cue is in the 3-pin port and on universe C. It's assigned to address 15 because I have two RoboScan 812's in the board in 1 and 7, but those aren't connected at the moment; the power supply (which appears to be the...

    Problems setting up an I-Cue

My school just picked up an I-Cue today for a show that's opening Friday night, but I can't get it to work quite yet. I plugged it into our board and set it up this evening, but I can't control pan and tilt (except for manual control on the unit). Here's the situation:It seems that the...

What do you hate about your light board?

Our drama department bought an Innovator 24/48 when they started converting the old cafetorium into a real theater over the summer of '06. We don't even bother using the cue system because everything just ends up getting deleted anyway; all of our shows are programmed into subs. Our i48 Quad...

    One "hot" play...

My predecessor did that once with a 360Q. I think the hole might still be in that leg.

    College for a Light Designer

I can't say how much I appreciate all the advice, guys. It's great to hear from actual students and alums about the programs, especially since it's not practical for me to visit most of the schools I'm considering (although I did manage to get to Linfield, Oregon State, and UW).I have to say...

    Portland, OR: Rental Houses

Cascade Sound here in Salem does rentals, but I don't know what kind of lighting equipment they rent out.

    Tales of Stupid

Well, here's a story of my own stupidity: This summer, after some renovations had taken place in my high school's theater (just new house lights and sound baffling), I came in the theater a few times to check things out. Unfortunately, I couldn't get the lights to work. I figured the dimmer...

    College for a Light Designer

Yeah, I know someone who's going there too (he's majoring in Theatre Arts but concentrating on acting). He doesn't know about their tech program yet, but their IT department is utterly incompetent. Since I might minor in Computer Science, that's a bad sign. Also, does anyone have thoughts on...
