Design iGOBO app for Blackberry users

No gel or gobo manufacturer seems to be giving Android any love, I'd quite like to write my own little app but I don't know the legalities of using data about what are after all company products - sorry for the offtopic, but Kelite, what would Apollo's position on this be?

    ENTTEC Open USB-DMX Software?

If there isn't an explicit 'invert channel' option, I don't know whether it would be possible to fix this. Ask on the Freestyler forums. Are all the cable runs involved with each console the same? Or perhaps the colour changers only accept a certain specification of DMX. See if Freestyler...

    ENTTEC Open USB-DMX Software?

If you are bothering to install Windows, I would recommend going for MagicQ. It does work with the Open USB DMX, but only on Windows. But if your playing around is with a view to deciding where to spend money in the future, you should really budget for a Pro. They're about $150 / €125 / £110...

    ENTTEC Open USB-DMX Software?

Unfortunately, from the MagicQ website: Though I can tell you from personal experience that it works with the Enttec DMX USB Pro on all three OSs. The Pro really is a good investment, it's much faster and more reliable than the Open, which is like a winmodem -- everything done in software...

    ENTTEC Open USB-DMX Software?

What about MagicQ PC? ChamSys LtdMagicQ has the advantage of giving you some 'real' remoting with its web interface, and ArtNet etc in/out.The interface is a little weird to use, because it is an onscreen replica of a real console, but it's very powerful.

    Strand Pattern 23

They are a surprisingly decent fixture. They have a couple of weird notes though:- The original Patt23 (not 23S), which is what we have, didn't have shutters or slots for them, which can be annoying. However they partly make up for it by coming with a selection of donuts, which is useful.-...

    Chroma-Q Scroller Barndoors

Thanks for the info. I do always safety everything, but everything has up till now not included gel frames and barndoors. On a scroller where there's no catch or clip in the top of the holder I would, but is it considered good practice to safety every gel frame etc too?

    Chroma-Q Scroller Barndoors

Has anyone here used barndoors with Chroma-Q Plus scrollers? Chroma-Q lists a "Set of 3 Composite Barndoor Tabs" as an accessory for their scrollers - what are these? Are they actual barndoors, or tabs which create a slot for them, and if so, what size? Thanks

Control/Dimming Motorised faders for a scratch build lighting control system

FYI our current board is this: Elara (Sorry that's not the manufacturer's website, but it's discontinued, and that page contains a picture, basic feature list, and the manual anyway.) It's a fairly old 12/24 two preset almost-but-not-quite-memory board - it does scene presets and sequences, but...

Control/Dimming Motorised faders for a scratch build lighting control system

We may have a solution.... Endless faders, using a rubber belt attached to a quadrature rotary encoder. No need for any mechanisation at all, it will all be relative and the position indicator will be an LED bar graph rather than the slide position. There are still some issues to be ironed...

Control/Dimming Motorised faders for a scratch build lighting control system

We already have a usbdmx.com : The bus powered usb dmx interface : Home Page DMX interface to use, and we are quite happy with coding and electronics (and have plentiful 'stock' components, including PICs and EPROMS). We've looked at the Behringer, yes, it looks like it would be the obvious...
