70v Ceiling PA

Hi guys. Looking at installing a 70v PA in a drop ceiling. Does anybody know if the speaker wire needs to run through conduit/flex considering it's 70v according to the NEC. I called the local building authorities and left a voicemail to find out if there is any local code about it. We'll see if I get any calls back.

Normally no it does not, though it still has to be plenum rated cable. Though if your ADHJ says they would like it in conduit then place it in conduit.

No, this would be going in Kane County. County Building and Zoning Division says there are no county codes that say either way, so it looks like we are good to go (with plenum rated cable, of course).

If their are no codes stating otherwise then go for it.

I know Chicago and Vegas everything needs to be in conduit. Pretty overkill honestly.
