Beam Clamp

A type of clamp that allows one to mount equipment (commonly a lighting instrument, truss, or pipe) onto an I-beam, purlin, an open web steel joist or any similarly flanged piece of structural steel upon which a conventional c-clamp would be useless. Beam clamps come in many sizes and designs. They can be incredibly useful in non-traditional spaces such as warehouses or converted storefront spaces.

Of course, one should use beam clamps that carry the necessary ratings for the loading being applied. One should also consider if the structural steel to be attached to can handle such loads.

If and when in doubt, CONSULT A QUALIFIED RIGGER!
