Control/Dimming ETC Smartbar 2

not if its single phase 240 ala Euro power.

that is what is going to happen. we are setting up an exhibit here in the US for testing and then sending it over to Europe. What would be needed if we would want to keep the whole exhibit 120v and convert from 240v at the source?

... It appears that the smartbar 2 will operate on 230v so what you may want to do is to re-lamp your fixtures for that voltage when you ship the exhibit.

Unfortunately, the 120V and 230V versions of SmartBar2 use different hardware internally. The US version (120V) is designed to meet UL specifications while the European version (230V) is intended to comply with CE requirements.

I would agree with the suggestions to change your voltages upstream of your devices or see if you can get a 230V source in the US for your testing.

So one quick question about smartbar2....

Can the Bar Operate on a 20amp-120v circuit?

It may be able to, depending on the size. From the data sheet:

ELECTRICAL
• 85-140V phase to neutral 47-63Hz mains supply
• Input power feed (top or bottom feed)- 20a max per phase
• 2 Circuit - Single phase 2-wire plus ground
• 4 Circuit - Standard with single phase 2-wire plus ground
• 6 Circuit - Standard with 3 phase 4-wire plus ground, 20a feed
• 4 and 6 Circuit High Power Bars optionally available with 12-4 SO cable for support of 120/240V Single (bi) phase feeds
• Input Power via an attached flexible 12’ SO feed cord and bare-ends (connector not supplied)
• 2500V isolation between control and power components
• Total load can not exceed capacity of main power connection (wall outlet, 15a, 20a per phase)
• 75W minimum load per dimmer
Edison, Stage Pin or twist-lock outlets (1 per circuit)
• Single duplex auxiliary outlet centered on bar
• 10a magnetic supplemental circuit breaker for each output

Hans,

Could a Four Circuit SmartBar2 Fit on a Global Truss St-132?

Thnx!

It may or may not work -- I'm not too familiar with the Global Truss St-132, though it looks like the hardware really doesn't give it a good match. Other users that have experience with that hardware might be able to offer more insight.

We recommend the SmartStand, as it is definitely compatible with the SmartBar2. On page three of the datasheet, there are optional mounting brackets that can be used for other mounting techniques.
