With the additional insights, I've been able to finalize the system. Hopefully this will be able to be used by others in similar situations in the future.

Equipment List
  • Camera - Sony EVI-D70
  • TecNec RF Modulator, Channel 3-4 (stereo inputs)
  • Vaddio 0.5x Wide Lens
  • WinTV HVR-850 USB TV Tuner
  • HP Pavilion P7-1108p PC
  • 15" TV (for box office)
  • 19" Acer Monitor (for lighting booth)
  • 32" TV (for lobby)
  • DVI-D+L/R audio to HDMI Converter
The Sony EVI-D70 will be mounted on the wall at the back of the house above the sound/light booth. I purchased the Wide Angle lens to for optimum coverage. We have S-video (Y/C) running to our TecNec modulator and left/right audio coming from omni outs of our LS9. We have coax going out from the modulator to our school's TV distro rack (approximately 150 feet at most).

We'll have a return coax line from that rack to our light booth where it will come into our PC via the tuner card. We'll use a splitter to run a coax feed right to a small TV in the box office. From the computer, we'll have one DVI-D output for the in-booth monitor and another DVI-D output to the DVI-D/HDMI converter by the computer. We'll run HDMI from that to the lobby (about 30 feet) that will input to a TV for patrons.

The reasoning behind this setup was that the box office would only need a house video feed for monitoring purposes. We did it differently for the lobby TV as we will use the booth PC to show pre/post show and intermission announcements and then switch to the house feed during the show. By initially running the video/audio from the modulator to TV distro rack, we can give a pure feed to the school's TV system which covers the dressing rooms and other overflow areas.

Can't wait to get it set up. Any questions, feel free to ask.
