Hanging canvas drop cloths

Our theatre is being rented for a "summer camp" for a couple of weeks. They would like to hang some painted canvas drop cloths.

Obviously there are no grommets and tie strings. There also is no pipe pocket in the bottom.

Previously they had been stapled to a large frame. They were removed from that frame a while back and "rolled" up (can we say some creases?).

My first thought was to construct a frame of an appropriate size out of 1 x 4 with suitable rails and stiles. Stretch the canvas and secure it to the frame and then hang the frame and canvas from one of the battens. I've got enough 1/8" aircraft cable and the appropriate hardware so that wouldn't be a problem.

Is there another, easier way?

I would consider just a top and bottom batten. ( assuming the sides of the drop are masked be legs or something)

Get a 1x4batten for the top. Staple the drop to the batten. Drill some holes in the batten to let you tie it to your pipi batten

Similar on bottom but just let the weight stretch it ( or fasten to floor)
