illuminated fog installation for Berlin Wall

I am presently working with an artist in developing a model for an installation piece commemorating the Berlin Wall, composed of illuminated fog/mist. While conceptually complete, the mechanical aspects to execute the project and build a model require further input. We have not been able to work through this with the German engineers to date, and are seeking advice on potential contacts in the USA for assistance, preferably east coast. The engineering problems primarily involve excess water creating a spray rather than mist, thus precluding pedestrian walk through, which is a key experiential element of the piece. The idea is to have an illuminated fog/mist curtain rising from the bottom, which appears to be done successfully and often in stage/concert productions. This is for a temporary outdoor installation (two to four weeks) of 4 - 6 meters length that would be running continuously for 4 hours per day. The exhibit site and support of the East Side Gallery in Berlin as well as sponsors for an initial low cost model have been identified. Any information or advice you could provide would be greatly appreciated as we are casting a wide net to try and resolve this in a short timeframe due to the unanticipated German engineering problems.
Thank you.
