Jands ESP II...linking consoles and general channel/scene count

Hi all,

A couple of questions...

The theatre I work at is currently looking at purchasing a used Jands ESP II 24/48.

Am I right in thinking that in "wide" mode, I will easily be able to control 48 dimming channels but still have "scenes" available on the lower rail? Can I easily record any of the 48 channels to 1 of the 12 scenes at the bottom? If there are more "scenes" available, through pages, how would I get from raising & lowering say scene 12 to scene 13? Or, am I way off the mark here?

Also, I see that these consoles are linkable, and also saw a Jands stage 12/24 used online. If I were to slave a 12/24 to a 24/48 how many maximum dimmer channels could I control? Would this be easy? Practical?

Thanks in advance and appreciate any and all insight with this console. Funds are approved and in place for purchase, but just want to know ahead of time how much console we would be getting for the buck ($1K CDN used)

Have never used one, I did search for the manual, it is located here:

It looks like you have to have a special cable to slave one unit to the other. The cable goes from he DMX output of the slave to the MIDI input of the master.
Sorry I don't know more.
