Hey everyone!

So as promised I'm posting our our next round of classes which are free and open to all. Please tell all your friends in Phoenix!

All classes are at Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona unless otherwise noted.

Tuesday, March 1st, 7-8:30pm: Introduction to Professional Audio
ASU Memorial Union North Outdoor Stage
Taught by LAVA Staff Sound Engineer
Topics include how to set up a basic sound system, mic choice and placement, mixing live, and troubleshooting

Tuesday, March 8th, 7-9pm: Introduction to Stage Lighting
ASU Memorial Union North Outdoor Stage
Taught by LAVA Staff Lighting Designer
Topics include how to set up a basic lighting system, DMX**, basic electrical theory, types of electrical systems**, how to use a multimeter, lighting techniques, troubleshooting, and how modern consoles work**.

Saturday, March 26th, Lighting System Maintenance (I'm not sure if this is the exact title) at Clearwing Productions
Non-ASU students need to sign up through Clearwing, ASU students can contact LAVA to sign up.

Tuesday, March 29th, 6-9ish pm: Build an Outdoor Light Show
ASU Memorial Union North Stage
Co-Taught by LAVA Staff Lighting Designer and TBA
This will involve staging a small outdoor light show utilizing automated lights, LEDs, and conventionals. Design will be the main focus as the majority of the rig will be setup beforehand and building blocks will be pre-programmed. Programming and level of design opportunities will be provided depending on the level of attendees.

Tuesday, April 5th, 7-9pm: Introduction to Rigging
ASU Location TBD
Taught by Jerry Gorrell, an ETCP Recognized Trainer in Rigging and Electrical
This will include the basics of arena and theatre rigging. Topics will in part be based on level and interests of attendees.

RSVPs are not required but are strongly recommended to assist with an appropriate sized location and to assure you are notified if a location is changed due to weather or other circumstances.
