    A foam enclosure, allowing a hand-held mic to be placed parallel to and just above, the stage deck. Usually located in the footlight position, mic mice have been superseded by boundary microphones such as the Crown PCC-160. These mice became extinct just before the term "mouse" came to be known as a computer input device.
