Microphones Microphone connector

My stage currently uses 10 Audio-Technica Body transmitters, but the cables on the lavs are cutting out. My school recently bought a few Countryman headsets, but not reading the manual, the kids have bend them to hell. I'm trying to replace them with something the kids can't break like Shure WL93s which I've used before, but I can't find what type of connector to buy for the Audio-Technica connector. Any advice?

Might I suggest an Acacia Audio - LIZ-LAV- in either tan or black from All Pro Sound.

They are priced about the same as a WL93 and can be ordered with Shure, Audio Technica or Sennheiser connectors.

I use them for all of our student productions and save the "great" mics for the adults who won't tear them up.

I thought Audio Technica used a TA3. What model are the packs?

The connector type on the belt pack isn't the problem. Every wireless manufacturer has their own standard for what each pin on the connector does. In other words, just because the connector fits doesn't mean it'll work. You have to have the mic manufacturer customize the mic to connect to the beltpack you have. Some companies do that with fancy adapters, and some do it by wiring differently when they solder the connector on.

Order them with the extra-stiff ear loop, as the standard ones are very wimpy.

I second the Microphone Madness suggestion. We just installed 8 of them in a middle school and they've been working very well for them.
