Hey guys,
I'm a junior getting a BS in Music and Technology, which basically means 2 years of electrical and computer engineering, and 2 years of music. Next year, I have a 2-semester project course that's entirely self-defined. This is roughly 300 hours of work. I'm having a really hard time trying to come up with something I can work on that will take me 200+ hours, so I thought I'd come here and ask for your ideas. For what it's worth, everybody else in my major is computer science-based, so they do coding projects. I don't want to do that; I want to do something involving sound technology (and potentially lighting, though that's not my forte)
So, my question: what would you like to see 300 hours of a college student's research and development go into with respect to theater sound, electrics, music, etc.? What areas currently suck technologically? What needs improvement through research?
