Please someone explain how this is done. WOW!

Pretty cool video, although actually it's pretty simple compared to a lot of the other stuff out there. In this case they have a giant white flat white surface to project on. Do a search for 3D image map videos on buildings to see some really crazy stuff... this one for example is pretty crazy. How is it done? Several powerful projectors, a powerful computer, and some really cool software from someone like Coolux. When they do it on surfaces that aren't flat like buildings, they place projectors at different angles so that they can get the sides as well as the front. If you have any follow up questions ask them and @ruinexplorer can answer them, he knows all about this sort of stuff.

I wonder how it looks from different angles? A lot of that first part looked like it was designed to be viewed from the one side. Still looks awesome though!

Based on the multiple camera angles and editing, this was designed for tv, as well as for the crowd.

Time code so audio and visuals are all sync-ed up. It's not easy for a novice, but video mapping is fairly well established and probably contracted out to someone, just like moving lights or audio or pyro, or any other service can be.

For some really awesome mapping, look for the compilation of the French version of Dancing with the Stars.

We did it a few years back but without the mapping and 3D effects.
We easily could have added them but it was an extremely quick turn around on the project and it wasn't the look we were going for.
Here is an article on our setup:
