Portable metal staircase

we are about to do Peter and the Starcatcher. The designer has called for two warehouse style ladders. I do not have the budget to purchase them and in all honesty I would have to get ridof them after the show anyways. Has anyone found a place that would rent these units. Also is there a safe way to take an a frame ladder and add wheels that someone ha tried.

First off, as I'm sure you are aware, you need to be EXTREMELY careful when you are talking about putting ladders on wheels. That being said, something like This might be an option.

Those warehouse ladders are more just moving staircases. An A Frame is more of a vertical ladder. I dont think you will get the same results.

You living around Boston. I would goto your Industrial district and ask if you could do tickets for trade on the stairs.

How tall? I did one a few years ago about 8 steps with precut stringers, 2x10 treads and 4x4 posts, all thru-bolted with 1/2" bolts.
