Preference?

I have three AT u853a's, but have been only moderately pleased with them. I have heard good things about Shure's MX202's. Does anyone have experience with both, and do you have a preference between the two? My use is generally for micing a choir on a proscenium stage for sound reinforcement. Please - no comments on boundary mics. Just looking to see a comparison between the two listed hanging mics. Thank you.

I have always had the 202's, but have used the 853's several times. From my experience, I preferred the 202's. I was able to get a more natural sound and had less issues with gain before feedback. I also noticed I had to do less eq on the channel strip with the 202's to get the sound I needed. That is my $0.02.

I have not used the 853's, but we have 6 of the 202's. I have been very happy with them as they replaced a couple of 98's(I think thats what they were) that I didnt care for.
