If you're looking for a cheap way to put show monitors into your dressing rooms, do what I do. I take 2 of our Assistive Listening receivers and put one in each dressing room. Then I plug in a set of amplified computer speakers into each one. Done deal. The plug is even the correct size. If you need more volume, you can plug the receiver into a guitar amp, but be warned...the louder you make the monitors, the louder the actors will be.
If you don't have an assistive listening system, you can pick them up pretty cheap on eBay. Grab a transmitter and a couple of receivers and you're good to go. Be sure to get the radio system, not the infrared one.
We haven't found it necessary to talk to the dressing rooms with this setup, since the actors can follow the show and know when they need to be on stage.
